Joe Farrugia Collection

Joe Farrugia, known as 'Id-Dulli', born in Żurrieq in 1953, is a well-known stage and television actor, specialising in comic roles but has also excelled in more serious parts. He has performed in community theatres, and on national stages, for decades. He got his first roles in school plays when Francis Ebejer was his headmaster and never looked back. The material in this collection is a copy of parts of his personal archive.

Mikielang Borg Collection

Mikelanġ Borg (Valletta 1868-St Julians 1939) was a theatre-maker, printer, trade unionist and politician. He is best known as the director of L’Indipendenza theatre company between the last years of the nineteenth century until his death. Under his leadership, the company was transformed from a typical amateur company to an innovative semi-professional company, performing in large theatres like the Royal Opera House and staging large scale productions that were not only popular but also profitable. Part of Borg’s contribution to the company was translating and adapting a large number of comic works, mostly recent works from French and Italian theatre.

Victor Camilleri Collection

Victor Camilleri was born on 13th September 1944. He emigrated with his family to London at the age of eight, where he attended St Joseph's School. It was there that his musical abilities were first recognised: earning him his first major musical role as leader the school's musical group. In adulthood, he earned the distinguished Fellowship of the London College of Music (FLCM) from the London College of Music. He has studied under various instructors, including a renowned Polish music teacher whose own mentor had been a student of composer Franz Liszt. He also studied under Maltese composer Mro. Carmelo Pace. Though he spent much of his later years away from formal composition, he has since returned to the art: composing several classical works including sacred music with orchestration. This is a collection of musical recordings and scores of Victor Camilleri's works.
