Abstract: Manoel Theatre, the Ministry of Labour, Culture and Welfare, and the Theatre National Academique d'Opera et Ballet "Sofia" present the programme for the repertoire of "Opera Season 1981", featuring the participation of the Manoel Theatre Orchestra, Manoel Theatre Choir, and the leaders from the Bulgarian State Opera and Choir. The opera season featured performances of the operas "Il Trovatore" (written by Salvatore Cammarano, with music composed by Giuseppe Verdi), "La Boheme" (written by Luigi Illica and Giuseppe Giacose, with music composed by Giacomo Puccini), and "La Traviata" (written by Francesco M. Piave, with music composed by Giuseppe Verdi). The music in "Il Trovatore" and "La Boheme" was conducted by Boris Hinchev, while the music in "La Traviata" was conducted by Mro. Joseph Vella. "Il Trovatore" was held on the 7th, the 8th and the 10th of November; "La Boheme" was held on the 12th, the 14th and the 15th of November; and "La Traviata" was held on the 19th, the 21st, and the 22nd of November, 1981. The opera repertoire was held on the occasion of the 13th centennial jubilee of the Bulgarian State, at the Manoel theatre, in Valletta.
