Abstract: Karl Mannheim's work in the area of Sociology of Knowledge is generally considered to be his greatest contribution to sociological research. In his writings on the subject, the Hungarian theorist posits that a sociology of knowledge is possible and that there exists a relationship between forms of knowledge and social structure. The article examines this work, highlighting how relevant this perspective is for those interested in studying cultural and educational processes according to critical perspective. Indeed, the concept of ideology can be useful in highlighting how education and culture are not neutral but linked to power dynamics, a first step for those who wish to propose a sociology that supports the fight against social injustice.
