Abstract: Manoel Theatre and the Cultural Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Culture, in association with the Embassy of the People's Republic of Bulgaria and the Embassy of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic, present the programme for an operatic concert conducted by Mro. Joseph Sammut, led by George Spiteri, and performed by the Manoel Theatre Orchestra. The concert starred singers Nadya Sormova (soprano), Rossitza Troeva (mezzo soprano), and Nikola Vasilev (baritone). The concert featured musical works from the operas of Verdi, Leoncavallo, Rossini, Puccini, Cilèa, Saint-Saëns, Dvořák, and Donizetti. The performance was held as part of the Malta International Arts Festival, on the 2nd of August, 1985, at St. Paul's Square, in Mdina.
Description: Programme includes essay on Mdina and it's landmarks written by Michael Ellul, map of Mdina, list of featured music including composers, their operas and featured performers, and pictures of singers Nadya Sormova, Rossitza Troeva and Nikola Vasilev.
