Abstract: The Cathedral Museum of Mdina presents the programme for an exhibition of the career and works of Maltese composer Carmelo Pace, curated by Canon John Azzopardi, and held in celebration of his 80th birthday. The exhibition was preceded by a vocal and instrumental concert of Carmelo Pace's works, conducted by Carmelo Pace himself. The concert starred singers Catherine Gauci (soprano), Ronald Azzopardi Caffari (bass), Arthur Micallef (tenor), Lino Attard (baritone), Marie Thérèse Vassallo (soprano), Joe Vella Bondin (bass), Phyllis Bajada Abram (soprano), Brian Cefai (tenor), and Joe Huber (tenor). The concert also featured instrumentalists Stephanie Lauri, Rita Psaila, Monica Attard, Mary Rose Bondin, Helen Degabriele, Carmine Lauri, Sarah Spiteri, and Stephen Zammit. The concert was held at the Cathedral Church of Mdina, while the proceeding exhibition was held at the Cathedral Museum in Mdina. Both the concert and the exhibition were held on the 23rd of June, 1986.
Description: Programme includes note on Carmelo Pace and his works as displayed in the exhibition written by curator Canon John Azzopardi, photo of composer Carmelo Pace, Carmelo Pace's Curriculum Vitae with some photos, list of featured music in vocal concert including featured singers and instrumentalists, list of composer Carmelo Pace's works, list of showcases featured in the exhibit, quotes from reviews of previous events featuring performances of the works of Carmelo Pace, and photo of the Pope receiving the "Stabat Mater" score on the 7th of August, 1985.
