Abstract: Manoel Theatre presents the programme for the 3-act tragic opera "Madama Butterfly", written by Luigi Illica and Giuseppe Giacosa, with music composed by Giacomo Puccini, and directed by Joe Fenech. The opera performance featured the Manoel Theatre Orchestra (led by George Spiteri) and the Manoel Theatre Choir, both conducted by Mro. Joseph Sammut. The performance was held on the 18th, the 20th, and the 23rd of November, 1986, at the Manoel theatre in Valletta.
Description: Programme includes list of cast with few signatures, short note on the premier productions of "Madama Butterfly" in different countries, synopsis of each act in the opera "Madame Butterfly", photo of composer Giacomo Puccini, note on the very first production of "Madama Butterfly" and its premier production in Malta, notes with photos and signatures on conductor Mro. Joseph Sammut, cast members Miriam Gauci, Jeffrey Talbot, Yasuko Ido, Joe Huber, Julian Moyle and Joseph Vella Bondin and director Joe Fenech, list of members of the Manoel Theatre Orchestra, lists of female and male members of Manoel Theatre Choir with piano accompanist Mario Fenech's signature, list of crew with some signatures, and list of acknowledgements.
