Abstract: Manoel Theatre and La Compagnia D'Operette "Belle Epoque" present the programme for the 3-act operettas "Cin-Ci-Lá" (written by Carlo Lombardo with music composed by Virgilio Ranzato), "Il Conte de Lussemburgo" (written by Leo Stein, Alfred Maria Wilner and Robert Bodanzky with music composed by Leo Stein and Franz Lehár), and "Il Paese del Sorriso" (written by Ludwig Herzer, Fritz Löhner, and Victor Léon, with music composed by Franz Lehár). "Cin-Ci-Lá" was directed by Aurora Banfi, while the operetta "Il Conte de Lussemburgo" was directed by Diag'io, and "Il Paese del Sorriso" was directed by Sergio Fontana. The performances featured the Manoel Theatre Orchestra, conducted by Giorgio Tazzari, and led by George Spiteri. The performance also featured choreography created by Enrica Piancastelli. The performance of "Cin-Ci-Lá" was held from the 18th till the 22nd of May, while the performance of "Il Conte de Lussemburgo" was held from the 19th till the 23rd of May, and the performance of "Il Paese del Sorriso" was held from the 20th till the 24th of May, 1990. All the performances were held at the Manoel Theatre, in Valletta.
Description: Two copies of programme included, one with performers'/crews' signatures, and the other without. Both programmes include brief historical note on the operetta, lists of casts and crews for "Cin-Ci-Lá", "Il Conte de Lussemburgo" and "Il Paese del Sorriso", synopses of operettas "Cin-Ci-Lá", "Il Conte de Lussemburgo" and "Il Paese del Sorriso", note with photo on featured composer Franz Lehár, and list of acknowledgements from the Manoel Theatre Management Committee.
