Abstract: Manoel Theatre presents the programme for the 3-act operas "Madama Butterfly" (written by Giuseppe Giacosa and Luigi Illica, with music composed by Giacomo Puccini), and "L'Amico Fritz" (written by P. Suardon (real name: Nicola Daspuro), with music composed by Pietro Mascagni). "Madama Butterfly" was produced by Alberto Leone, and "L'Amico Fritz" was produced by Lino Gatt. The performances featured the Manoel Theatre Orchestra, which was conducted by Mro. Joseph Sammut in "Madama Butterfly", and conducted by Alberto Leone in "L'Amico Fritz". The performance also featured choristers from Għaqda Kantanti Liriċi Maltin. The performance of "Madama Butterfly" was held on the 21st, the 24th and the 26th of April, whilst the performance of "L'Amico Fritz" was held on the 22nd and the 25th of April, 1990. All the performances were held at the Manoel Theatre, in Valletta.
Description: Two copies of programme included, one with performers'/crews' signatures, and the other without. Both programmes include lists of cast and crew for "Madama Butterfly", photos of cast members Yoko Sen, Mario Leonardi, Maria Thérèse Vassallo and Tino Rametta and conductor Joseph Sammut, synopsis of each act in "Madama Butterfly", list of members of backstage organisation in "Madama Butterfly", lists of cast and crew for "L'Amico Fritz", photos of cast members Mario Carrara, Osiris Stanziola, Riccardo Marcucci and Marie Thérèse Vassallo and conductor Alberto Leone, synopsis of acts in "L'Amico Fritz", list of choristers from Għaqda Kantanti Liriċi Maltin, list of acknowledgements for the production of "L'Amico Fritz", list of members of backstage organisation in "L'Amico Fritz", and list of acknowledgements from the Manoel Theatre Management Committee.
