Abstract: Manoel Theatre presents the programme for a charity gala performance of music, literature, and theatre, held in aid of the Community Chest Fund. The event was produced by Julian Diacono, and directed by Peyton Martin, with assistant director Joe Debono. The event featured the performances of some scenes from Noel Coward's "Private Lives" and some of medleys of musicals. The event also featured performances of the musical works of Carmelo Pace, Mozart, Stravinsky, Puccini, Debussy, Chopin, Tárrega, Tchaikovsky, Mascagni, and Rossini. Some of the musical sections featured the conducting of Mro. Joseph Vella, and the choral performance of the Amadeus Chamber Choir (directed by Brian Cefai). The event was held on the 27th of April, 1991, at the Manoel Theatre, in Valletta.
Description: Two copies of programme included, one with performers' signatures, and the other without. Both programmes include message from President Censu Tabone, list of organising committee members, list of performers, list of production team, list of featured performance items including featured creators and featured performers, and short notes on performers Brian Cefai, Antoinette Miggiani, Marie Thérèse Vassallo, Joseph Vella Bondin, Freddie Mizzi, Brian Schembri, Simon Schembri, Cynthia Turner, Olya Vassileva, Charles Arrigo, Monika Attard, Marylu Coppini, Edward Mercieca, Alan Montanaro, Denise Mulholland, Steven Beagley, Bryony Brind and Mary Spiteri, short note on the choir group Amadeus Chamber Choir, list of acknowledgements, and note on the Manoel Theatre.
