Abstract: A 76-year-old lady, on routine examination, was noted to have a palpable mass in the left upper abdominal quadrant, which was dull to percussion, descending with inspiration and with a notch on the anterior border suggestive of splenomegaly. She reported an increase in abdominal girth over the preceding months, but complained of no other abdominal, gastrointestinal or urinary symptoms. An abdominal ultrasound revealed a normal sized spleen, with 14.7 cm echogenic left suprarenal mass displacing the spleen superiorly and the normal left kidney inferiorly. No other ultrasonographic features were noted. [excerpt]
