| Abstract: | Manoel Theatre, the Valletta Rehabilitation Project, and Valletta Dramatic Company (V.D.C.) present the programme for an event featuring the following adapted operettas: "La Vedova Allegra" (written by Leo Stein and Viktor Léon, with music composed by Leo Stein and Franz Lehár), "Cin Ci La" (written by Carlo Lombardo with music composed by Virgilio Ranzato), "Al Cavallino Bianco" (written by Hans Müller-Einigen and Erik Charell, with lyrics written by Robert Gilbert, and music composed by Ralph Benatzky), "Il Paese del Sorriso" (written by Ludwig Herzer, Fritz Löhner, and Victor Léon, with music composed by Franz Lehár), and "Il Paese del Campanelli (written by Carlo Lombardo, with music composed by Carlo Lombardo and Virgilio Ranzato). The operettas were adapted to a series of song and dance by Joe Brincat, with choreography created by Felix Busuttil and performed by the YADA Dance Company, and directed by George Micallef. The event also featured an orchestra conducted by Mro. Archibald Mizzi. The performance was held on the 12th of June, 1993, at the Manoel theatre in Valletta. |
