Abstract: Manoel Theatre, in collaboration with the Eden Foundation, presents the programme for a vocal and instrumental concert led by Stephen Zammit, and performed by the Manoel Theatre Orchestra. The concert starred violinist Marcello Canci, soprano singer Lydia Caruana, and violist Giovanni Antonioni. The concert also starred violinist James Grech, who was included late in the event. The concert featured the musical works of Joseph Vella, Bach, Puccini, Cilèa, Verdi, and Mozart. The performance was held on the 15th of December, 1993, at the Manoel Theatre, in Valletta.
Description: Programme includes message from President of Malta H. E. Ċensu Tabone with his photo and signature, note on the Eden Foundation's mission mentioning a person under their care named Nicole Marie Muscat (with their photo), list of featured music including composers and featured performers, descriptions of featured music, and notes with photos on soprano singer Lydia Caruana, violinist Marcello Canci, violist Giovanni Antonioni and conductor/composer Joseph Vella. Programme also included separate page noting a change in programme for the inclusion of a Violin Concerto in C major op. 48 by Dmitri Kabalevski, including short biography of the composer, description of the song, and photo and note on featured violinist James Grech. Programme also includes separate slip of paper noting that Stephen Zammit had led the concert. Programme is given no. 1439 in archival records. Retrieved from the Manoel theatre records.
