Abstract: The Covid-19 Pandemic necessitated the use of hybrid instruction amongst other teaching processes. Much has been studied in relation to its benefits for learning and its accessibility for students. However, little has been researched in relation to the demands placed by this instruction process on the educator in general and more specifically on the professional post-secondary academic. Hence this paper was set up with the intention of gaining an in-depth understanding of the academics’ experiences and thoughts on the ‘imposed’ usage of hybrid lecturing. This study was based on peer-reviewed articles as a secondary research tool with the intention of establishing what had been dealt with and identified to date in relation to this process. Here, the confusion, misinterpretation, and misconception of hybrid versus blended, and in some instances even online learning, was brought to light.
