Abstract: Introduction: Nodular thyroid disease is a highly prevalent disorder, and its incidence has increased significantly over recent years, with 7-15% of thyroid nodules being malignant. We aimed to evaluate the different approaches to management of thyroid nodules and the ultrasound characteristics of thyroid nodules undergoing ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration (FNA).
Methods: Data was collected on ultrasonographic nodule characteristics, FNA histology and management of all thyroid nodules undergoing ultrasound guided FNA between July 2013 and December 2017, which were identified using Centricity Universal Viewer®.
