| Abstract: | Manoel Theatre and the European Piano Teachers' Association (Malta) present the programme for the final night of the third national piano competition, featuring young pianists Matthew Galea, Francesco Sultana, Caroline Bartolo, Joseph Vassallo, Francesca Stivala, Denise Martin, and Gabriella Sultana. The competitors were judged by pianists Anna Maria Bisazza, Ruth Gerald, Karen Briscoe, Rosetta De Battista, and Josephine Grima. The competition performance featured the musical works of Mendelssohn, Mozart, Prokofiev, Schumann, Granados, Grieg, Bartók, Haydn, Chopin, Debussy, and Beethoven. The event was held on the 25th of January, 1997, at Sala Isouard, in the Manoel Theatre, in Valletta. |
