| Abstract: | Manoel Theatre presents the programme for the 4-act opera "Manon Lescaut", written by Giuseppe Giacosa, Luigi Illica, Ruggiero Leoncavallo, Domenico Oliva, and Marco Praga, with additional input from Giulio Ricordi, and featuring music composed by Giacomo Puccini. The opera was produced and directed by Lino Gatt, with co-direction from assistant director Narcy Calamatta, and music conducted by Joseph Vella. The performance featured an orchestra led by Mario Bisazza, and a chorus led by chorus mistress Simone Attard. The performance was held from the 8th till the 10th of October, 1997, at the Manoel Theatre, in Valletta. |
