Abstract: Simon Schembri, in collaboration with 'Musiques au coeur' and the Musiques à Malte Foundation, present the programme for the 1st International Classical Musical Festival "Musiques à Malte". The festival featured performances from harpist Christine Icart, flautist Philippe Bernold, and guitarist Simon Schembri. The event was supposed to also feature the Quatuor Parisii, who couldn't participate due to the illness of one of their members. The Quartet were instead replaced by the Quatuor Brancusi, which were made up of violinists Gerard Tempia Bonda and Matthias Tranchant, violist Vincent Debruyne, and cellist Frederic Deville. The concert featured the musical works of Debussy, Boccherini, Vivaldi, Giuliani, Saint-Saëns, Ravel, and Ibert. The event was held on the 10th of May, at the President's Palace in Valletta; on the 11th of May, at the Mdina Cathedral Museum in Mdina; and on the 13th of May, 1998, at the Manoel Theatre, in Valletta.
