Abstract: Manoel Theatre and Valletta Dramatic Company (V.D.C.) present the programme for the 3-act operetta "La Vedova Allegra", translated into Maltese from Leo Stein's and Viktor Léon's "Die Lustige Witwe" by Robert Scalpello, with music composed by Franz Lehár, and artistically directed by Charles Arrigo. The performance featured a musical arrangement by Twanny Chircop, and an orchestra musically directed Mro. Archibald Mizzi. The performance also featured a choir directed by Phyllisienne Brincat, and choreography created by Felix Busuttil. The performance was held from the 22nd till the 24th of January, 1999, at Manoel Theatre, in Valletta.
Description: Two copies of programme included, one with performers'/crews' signatures, and the other without. Both programmes include synopsis of the operetta in Maltese and in English, group photo of featured dancers, list of dancers, list of crew from V.D.C., list of crew from Manoel Theatre, list of orchestra members, photos of cast members Karen Camilleri, George Micallef, Joseph Aquilina, Joe Attard, Phylisienne Brincat, Arthur Micallef, Simon Curmi, Joseph Brincat, Victor Bartolo and Marika Mizzi, artistic director Charles Arrigo and musical director Mro. Archibald Mizzi, list of choir members, short note of acknowledgements from V.D.C., note advertising forthcoming Talenti production "L-Imġarrab" by Żep Camilleri to be held in April, and list of operettas that have been performed by the V.D.C.
