Abstract: The Wignacourt Museum in Rabat is marking its 25th anniversary with an exhibition celebrating a major donation of around 1,200 ecclesiastical design drawings by Vincenzo Bonello (1891–1969). Donated by his heirs, the works highlight Bonello’s wide-ranging talents beyond his reputation as an art historian. Curator Mgr John Azzopardi selected 50 pieces, covering marble and stone works, metal and wood furnishings, and architectural designs for churches in Malta and Gozo. Notable examples include the Floriana pulpit and early designs for the Xewkija Rotunda. A 96-page book accompanies the exhibition, which runs until year’s end, alongside an 18th-century Neapolitan crib.
