Abstract: A work of exceptional originality, surprising, inspired, and bearing witness to a noble spiritual unease. If the author is asked in what genre it should be classified (philosophical tale, esoteric novel, lyrical fantasy, prose poem, etc.), he replies that he doesn't know and that it doesn't matter. If he is criticized for being too far removed from current tastes, he retorts that so much the worse for current tastes and for those who are enslaved by them. In a thousand symbolic adventures, "Bou-Ras" describes the quest of the Soul, imprisoned in the night, towards Light and Life. The strange tale begins in the mists of time. From the most obscure mythology, the author leads us, in the wake of his characters (for whom neither place, nor space, nor time matters), through all the systems built to satisfy the demands of the spirit, until the dawn of Light. This story is supported by an astonishing style, where we find the balance, the rhythm and the poetry of oriental tales, the flavor and richness of their dialogues, and some traces of a smiling skepticism tinged with humor.
