Abstract: Manoel Theatre and Bank of Valletta (BOV) present the programme for the 3-act opera "La Traviata", written by Francesco Maria Piave, with music composed by Giuseppe Verdi, and artistically directed by Jacobo Kaufmann, with musical direction from Michael Laus. The performance featured the Orkestra Nazzjonali (National Orchestra of Malta), led by Marcelline Agius. The performance also featured a chorus directed by chorus mistress Simone Attard. The performance was held as part of the Teatru Manoel BOV Opera Festival 2002, on the 16th and the 18th of March, 2002, at the Manoel Theatre, in Valletta.
Description: Two copies of programme included, one with some performers' signatures, and the other without. Both programmes include list of Manoel Theatre Management Committee, list of sponsors to the Manoel Theatre Management Committee, notes with details on performances and bookings at the Manoel Theatre, foreword written by BOV's chairman Joseph F. X. Zahra with his photo and signature, notes on artistic director/set designer Jacobo Kaufmann and musical director Michael Laus, note on Orkestra Nazzjonali, note on "La Traviata", synopsis of each scene/act in "La Traviata", lists of cast, chorus members and dancers, list of crew, notes with photos on cast members Iwona Hossa, Joseph Calleja and Piero Guarnera, notes on choir mistress Simone Attard and cast members Nunzio Gallì, Gillian Zammit, Jonathan Mohnani, Yvonne Galea, Noel Galea, John Gauci, Jean Paul Attard and Charles Vella Zarb, essay on the Bank of Valletta Group, essay on Manoel Theatre's history, note advertising the Theatre Museum, note advertising the Manoel Theatre Shop, and note advertising Manoel Theatre's food establishments Café Diva and the Theatre Restaurant.
