| Abstract: | The first examples of art known to man date to the Cro-magnon people. The artistic artifacts from this period are beautiful and seem to capture the movement of the subjects portrayed. They are an art form which indicates that from the earliest of times man sought to represent not just the world around him but also the spirit of the subject he portrays [20, chap. 1]. Today, despite easy access to computer aids, drawing and sketching remain relevant as tools to communicate ideas and form concepts. The versatility of drawings allows their use across a variety of applications, from illustrations of complex anatomical structures to instruction manuals, from architectural plans to route maps. This versatility becomes more evident when one takes into consideration that drawings are used across cultures and across times [extract]. |
