| Abstract: | Manoel Theatre, the Stradiviolin Studio, and Lufthansa present the programme for two musical performances held in celebration of Lufthansa's 20th anniversary of flights to Malta: the cello and piano recital "Music of the Soul", performed by cellist Alexander Rudin and pianist Sergei Glavatskih; and the orchestral concert "Solisti Virtuosi" conducted by Alan Chircop, led by Marcelline Agius, and performed by the National Orchestra of Malta. Both performances were artistically directed by James Grech. The concert "Solisti Virtuosi" also starred soloists Sergei Glavatskih (piano), Aleksander Krapovski (violin), and James Grech (violin). The "Music of the Soul" recital featured the musical works of Debussy, Britten, Schumann, and Rachmaninov. The "Solisti Virtuosi" concert featured the musical works of Verdi, Rachmaninov, Tchaikovsky, Sarasate, Vivaldi, and Strauss. "Music of the Soul" was held on the 24th of February, 2004, while "Solisti Virtuosi" was held on the 28th of February, 2004. The performances were both held at the Manoel Theatre, in Valletta. |
