| Abstract: | Manoel Theatre, in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism & Culture, present the programme for a Paolino Vassallo Celebration concert, celebrating Maltese composers Paolino Vassallo's 150th Anniversary of his birth. The concert was directed by Christopher Muscat, led by Marcelline Agius (who was also a soloist), and performed by the Orkestra Nazzjonali (National Orchestra). The concert featured the musical works of Paolino Vassallo. The performance was held on the 30th of May, 2006, at the Manoel Theatre, in Valletta. |
| Description: | Two copies of programme included, one with conductor Christopher Muscat's and soloist/leader Marcelline Agius' signatures, and the other without. Both programmes include foreword from the Maltese Minister for Tourism and Culture Francis Zammit Dimech including his photo and signature, photo and signature of composer Paolino Vassallo, list of featured music, notes with photos on conductor Christopher Muscat and soloist/leader Marcelline Agius, list of members of the National Orchestra, list of members of National Orchestra's Board of Directors, Council of Management and Administration teams, note with group photo on the National Orchestra, essay with photo on composer Paolino Vassallo's life and music taken from a speech delivered in 1938 to mark the 15th Anniversary of his death, notes on featured music, essay with related pictures on composer Paolino Vassallo's studies, development and output written by Emy Scicluna and Christopher Muscat, and list of acknowledgements. Both programmes also include separate paper with information on becoming a friend and/or patron of Orkestra Nazzjonali, possibly given with the programme at the time of the event.
