| Abstract: | Manoel Theatre presents the programme for an operatic concert conducted by Paolo Ponziano Ciardi, starring singers Gillian Zammit (soprano) and David Sotgiu (tenor), and performed by Orkestra Nazzjonali. The concert was initially planned to star tenor singer Rodolfo Canestrari, who could not attend due to family matters, and thus was replaced by tenor David Sotgiu. The concert featured musical works from the operas of Bizet, Donizetti, Mozart, Mascagni, Bellini, Verdi, Rossini, and Cilèa. The performance was held on the 7th of November, 2006, at the Manoel Theatre, in Valletta. |
| Description: | Two copies of programme included, one with conductor Paolo Ponziano Ciardi's and singers Gillian Zammit's and David Sotgiu's signatures, and the other without. Both programmes include foreword from the Maltese Minister for Tourism and Culture Francis Zammit Dimech including his photo and signature, list of members of the National Orchestra, list of members of National Orchestra's Board of Directors, Council of Management and Administration teams, list of featured music including composers and their operas, essay with photo on conductor Paolo Ponziano Ciardi, notes with photos on soprano singer Gillian Zammit and tenor singer Rodolfo Canestrani, notes on featured music, essay with photo on the National Orchestra, note advertising Orkestra Nazzjonali's forthcoming concert of Paolino Vassallo's "Messa da Requiem" to be held in November, list of acknowledgements, and separate paper with essay on tenor singer David Sotgiu which was likely given with the programme at the time of the event.
