Abstract: Manoel Theatre and Bank of Valletta present the libretto for a collection of poems (labelled "Songs of Travel") written by Robert Louis Stevenson, and the play "Riders to the Sea" written by John Millington Synge. These pieces were adapted into operas/musical performances by Ralph Vaughan Williams. These performances were held as part of the 10th edition of the BOV Opera Festival, on the 18th and the 19th of March, 2009, at the Manoel Theatre, in Valletta.
Description: Libretto includes words of Robert Louis Stevenson's poems "The Vagabond", "Let Beauty Awake", "The Roadside Fire", "Youth and Love", "In Dreams", "The Infinite Shining Heavens", "Whither Must I Wander?", "Bright is the Ring of Words" and "I Have Trod the Upward and the Downward Slope", and script to John Millington Synge's "Riders to the Sea". Libretto was held with relevant event's programme (archival no. 2500) in archival records. Retrieved from the Manoel theatre records.
