| Abstract: | Manoel Theatre, in collaboration with the Bank of Valletta, present the programme for the 1-act comic opera "La Cambiale Di Matrimonio" (written by Gaetano Rossi, with music composed by Gioacchino Rossini) and the 1-act opera "Aleko" (written by Vladimir Nemirovich-Danchenko with music composed by Sergei Rachmaninov). The production was directed by Angelika Frenzel, with musical direction from Brian Schembri. The production featured the participation of the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra. The performances also featured a choir led by choir master John Galea, and choreography created by Tanya Bayona. The performances were held as part of the 11th edition of the BOV Opera Festival, on the 17th and the 19th of March, 2010, at the Manoel Theatre, in Valletta. |
