Abstract: | Born on January 8, 1899, Mabel Strickland started her foray into politics at a young age. She became assistant secretary of the Constitutional Party, led by her father, Lord Strickland, shortly after he became leader of the Opposition in the Maltese Legislative Assembly in 1921 and continued to be by his side until his death in 1940.In this article, two former editors of Allied Newspapers, Victor Aquilina and Laurence Grech, remember her. |
