| Abstract: | This article recounts the life of Fr Matthew Sultana (1918-1986). In 1931, the young Vincenzo joined the Capuchin Friars. In 1934 he became a novice and took a new name 'Fra Mattew'. He was a well known teacher, in the Government Technical Institute and in the Serafik school where he taught Maltese, Italian and Latin. In his free time, he wrote hymns and poems. He also became a Member of the Maltese Academy. |
