Abstract: | This Government's commitment to develop an extensive and comprehensive legal framework for the promotion of consumer welfare continues unabated. Upon assuming office in 1987, Government immediately embarked on a gradual but consistent liberalisation of trade thereby facilitating competition and providing a wider choice for consumers. Government's next step was to proceed to identify those consumer-related laws and regulations which called for improvements and reforms. |
