Abstract: The life of Jesus influences our lives from birth to death. It bears a strong influence on all stages of our lives: birth, childhood, youth, adulthood, old age and finally death itself. This influence which the life of Jesus has on us is transmitted through the sacraments. Sacraments are signs through which Jesus shares with us his life of love. At birth we receive a share in the life of Jesus through Baptism. This sharing in the life of Jesus is called Grace. During childhood we receive First Holy Communion. Thus Grace grows even stronger in us, when we nourish (feed) ourselves with the Holy Eucharist. Then at the beginning of our teenage years (from thirteen to nineteen), we receive Confirmation. 1 At Confirmation this friendship with Jesus receives a big boost (extra strength) with the help of the Holy Spirit. Later on as adults we can receive one of two vocation sacraments, which can fulfil our life: Holy Matrimony or Holy Orders. With these last two sacraments we offer our service to the Church here on earth.
