Abstract: The eight pointed cross of the St. John Ambulance was created as a symbolic representation of the work of the brigade. It contains a religious significance as the four arms represent the four cardinal values, whilst the eight points are associated with beatitudes of Christ. the secular significance of it relates to the skills required of every first aider in the brigade.
