Abstract: The Malta Postal Administration, in collaboration with the Malta National Commission for the International Year of the Child, issued this set of three stamps to mark the International Year of the Child (1979). The three designs of this set were selected from a total of 321 entries submitted by children attending Primary Schools. The main objective of the International Year of the Child is to place the child in the centre of the world attention and to invite the world community to renew and re-affirm its concern for the present and future conditions of its children. The Malta National Commission is leaving no stone unturned in its efforts to make the International Year of the Child both a memorable experience for the children of today and a lasting action for their own benefit and for the benefit of the children of tomorrow.
