Abstract: The Congregation of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians was officially founded by Don Bosco in Mornese Italy, on the 5th August, 1872 with the religious profession of fifteen sisters, amongst whom their first superior, the 35 year old Mother Maria Domenica Mazzarella. Don Bosco was present at this first profession within this new Congregation, which he had founded in compliance to our Lady's express wish given him in a dream when he was just 9 years old. On seeing his vision-dream materialise he wished the Congregation to be a living monument of his gratitude to our Lady Help of Christians and thus the title 'Daughters of Mary Help of Christians'. Today, more than 140 years later, the presence of the Salesian Sisters has extended to every corner of the world. In Malta we find two communities, one in Victoria Gozo and the other recently established in Sliema, Malta.
