Abstract: The events of the past months have left a lasting impression on every sector, in societies and economies the world over. The cultural heritage sector has not been spared, with museums, exhibitions and heritage sites closing to the public. The International Council of Museums (I.C.O.M.) stated that “…at least 85.3% of museums in every region have been closed due to COVID19”.1 These extreme measures have brought into focus the applicability and importance of the digital world to cultural heritage practices. A shift towards the digital has been evident over the course of the last decade, however, a global pandemic has brought this into sharper focus, with heritage professionals implementing new strategies on how our cultural heritage can be accessed virtually.
