Abstract: Aims and objectives: The purpose of our study was to determine the clinical outcome of lower limb angioplasty in a population with a very high prevalence of diabetes.
Methods and materials: All angioplasties performed at the national hospital in Malta in 2011 were identified and the following data was collected retrospectively: indications, co-morbidities, complications, re-intervention rate, radiological success rate and survival at 1 and 12 months. Comparison was made to data from the medical literature. Data was retrieved from Picture Archiving & Communication System, Electronic Case Summary and iSOFT clinical manager.
