Abstract: | My motivation towards this subject is to increase my knowledge and to establish the present situation of elderly independence in residential homes. In doing so, I will be aware and conscious of such implications towards the dignity of older people. I would implement such knowledge to my field of work and pass it to my colleagues to promote the quality of life of older people. I would like to perform my research study to establish the level of independence that exist in residential homes after admission. The study is going to be carried out in different residential settings. The literature review will help me to identify all aspects and levels of independence. In evaluating my study, I would forward recommendations to improve the present situation of older persons in residential homes in Malta. |
