Prof. Jean Calleja-Agius from the Department of Anatomy, Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, together with Dr Andrei Agius Anastasi from the Maltese Society of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine (MSPRM) and the Malta Association of Neurologists and Neurosurgeons (MANNS) will be organising a seminar in order to raise awareness on stroke. This seminar will be held on Friday 23 May 2025 and is open to health care professionals, students, academics and the general public.

Keynote speakers include Dr Christian Zammit, Head of Department of Anatomy, who will be outlining his team's work on experimental models of stroke; and Prof. Reuben Grech, Head of Department of Radiology, who will be highlighting his work on mechanical thrombectomy in acute ischaemic stroke. Dr Maria Bonello and Ms Amy Lomax will be speaking about elevating stroke outcomes from the initial diagnosis to aftercare. Dr Christa Vella and the Stroke team at Karen Grech Rehabilitation Hospital will be emphasising the importance of the multidisciplinary team in stroke recovery. Finally, there will be a number of testimonials from stroke survivors.
