Earlier this week, Prof. Simone Borg, Head of the University’s Department of Environmental & Resources Law, was named as the Chairperson of Malta’s post-COVID-19 steering group.
The post-COVID-19 Steering Group was set up by Minister for Research, Innovation and the Co-Ordination of Post-COVID-19 Strategy, Hon. Owen Bonnici.
Prof. Borg is also a visiting lecturer at several foreign universities, a Fellow of the Sustainability Institute in Bruges, and an Expert on the European Union Expert Team for Horizon 2020.
The seven other members of this steering committee include Joyce Dimech, Mario Galea, Godwin Mifsud, James Pearsall, Gordon Sammut, Clive Tonna and Paul Zahra.
Minister Bonnici, who congratulated Prof. Borg on this appointment, said this group of people has the potential to help the country emerge stronger than before by being innovative, turning threats into opportunities.
