Easter in a Catholic country such as Malta meant that the Church largely dictated what one could and couldn’t eat, so there are a number of food items that are directly associated with the period of Lent or Easter Sunday.

- Ftajjar tar-Randan
- Qagħqa tal-Appostli
- Mazzit tal-Abjad
