Participants enrolled at the University of the Third Age will from this week be able to follow some of their lectures by tuning in to Campus FM on 103.7FM.
Starting from Wednesday 18 March, the University of Malta’s official radio station, Campus FM, will be airing two weekly lectures delivered by the University of Third Age lecturers.
The programme, titled Lezzjonijiet tal-Universita’ tat-Tielet Eta’, is being coordinated by Prof. Marvin Formosa, Ms Simone Ellul and Mr Joseph Said, all members of the University of Third Age in Malta.
Each lecture will be 45 minutes long and will tackle topical subject matters that are of general public interest. They will be aired between 18:00 and 19:30. New topics will be dealt with every week.
Forming part of the Malta University Broadcasting, Campus FM boasts of educational programmes, both of a formal and an informal nature. Since 1994, the radio station has been the recipient of a number of broadcasting awards.
Interim Station Manager of Campus FM, Mr Pierre Cassar, said “this collaboration will inject a sense of renewed interest in both the students of the University of Third Age, who have another means of refreshing their memory on the content they were meant to follow a formal setting, and for Campus FM listeners, who are being exposed to a variety of topics and widening their general knowledge.”
The University of Third Age in Malta, which was set up in January 1993 under the auspices of the University of Malta, offers a range of learning programmes to individuals over the age of 60, irrespective of their educational or academic qualifications.
