Expression of Interest H2020 MSCA-IF-2020: Individual Fellowships
Your chance to host a Post-Doctoral Fellow for 2 years, all expenses covered!
The Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions support researchers at all stages of their careers, regardless of age and nationality. Researchers working across all disciplines are eligible for funding. The Individual Fellowships (IF) support the mobility of experienced researchers (in possession of a doctoral degree or with at least four years experience).
What's in it for you as a host? You will have the opportunity to supervise a post-doctoral researcher in your field of research thus enhancing your own research and raising the profile of your publications. Not only, the same post-doc fellow is likely to be motivated to develop proposals as a continuation of the research and as part of their career development, which means that it could create new and exciting opportunities to participate in collaborative projects and supervise a steady research group!
This information will be published on a designated UM web page and distributed across the NCP network Net4Mobility as well as other networks with the aim of sourcing post-doctoral researchers. A link to the online UM Staff Directory Profile of the Contact Person listed below will be provided on the said UM web page.
Please express your interest in participating by filling in the form.
Forms will be received until Monday 2 March 2020, COB.

Human Frontier Science Program (HFSP) Research Grants
The aim of the Program is to promote, through international cooperation, basic research focused on the elucidation of the sophisticated and complex mechanisms of living organisms for the benefit of all humankind. Awards are made to international (preferably intercontinental) teams of 2 to 4 members. Emphasis is placed on building new collaborations that bring together life scientists and scientists from other disciplines such as physics, mathematics, chemistry, computer science and engineering, including the development of early career frontier scientists. The Programme supports potentially transformative proposals that address important problems at the frontiers of the life sciences, or barriers to progress in the life sciences. Projects should challenge existing paradigms by using novel approaches and techniques. Applications for high-risk/high-reward projects are particularly encouraged.
Research projects may range from biological functions at the molecular and cellular level up to the biological systems level, including cognitive functions. All levels of analysis are supported: for example studies on genes and individual molecules, intracellular networks, intercellular associations in tissues and organs, and networks underlying the complex functions of entire organisms, populations, or ecosystems.
Guidelines are available online.
Types of award: Young investigators’ and Program Grants
Young Investigators: Awarded to teams of researchers, all of whom are within the first five years after obtaining an independent laboratory (e.g. Assistant Professor, Lecturer or equivalent).
Program Grants: Awarded to teams of independent researchers at any stage of their careers. The research team is expected to develop new lines of research through the collaboration.
Both calls provide 3 years support for 2-4 member teams. Awards are dependent upon team size. Awards may be up to a maximum of $450,000 per year (teams of 4 or more).
