BA in Language Technology

The BA programme in Language Technology (LT) is an option offered to students who are interested in language and its interface with technology. The programme introduces the area known as Human Language Technology, which focuses on the creation of computer systems that use natural languages. It also offers a perspective on the way such systems are affecting communication between humans.

This general BA course is offered as a joint option with other areas of study offered by the Faculty of Arts.

Employment opportunities

Language Technology is an area of growing importance in research and production both in academic and in commercial sectors. This programme gives students the background to seek further opportunities in the ICT sector, the language sector and in academia.
