The Department of Marketing recently organised a research seminar titled "Marketing, Branding and AI in an Ever-changing World: The Impact on Consumer Behaviour”.
The seminar showcased the latest research from the Department of Marketing, including Dr Daniela Castillo who discussed the implications of chatbot failures in a customer service context, and MSc alumni, Ms Leanne Marie Vassallo and Ms Amanda Mizzi, who discussed their dissertation findings in the areas of augmented reality and customer experience management, respectively.
The seminar also featured an international speaker, Prof. Marco Mazzù from Luiss University in Rome, who gave a presentation on the “Made In” effect, with a specific focus on the "Made in Italy" label.
In his opening speech, the Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Management and Accountancy, Dr Emanuel Said, emphasised the importance of further learning and encouraged attendees to continually seek to further their education, “We need to keep our eyes open as learning opportunities are around us… I am proud to see how members of the first cohort of our MSc (barely 6 years ago) have moved on to senior positions in a short span of time, locally and overseas.”
In this respect, seminar attendees also had the opportunity to learn about future study opportunities within the Department of Marketing. These include MSc degrees in Marketing, Strategic Management and Marketing, or Strategic Management and Digital Marketing. Dr Franco Curmi, the Head of Department of Marketing, notes how financial support through the national scholarship schemes or through Get Qualified, can facilitate students in pursuing advanced educational opportunities at a Masters level.
A selection of presentations from the event, as well as more details on the MSc opportunities offered by the Department of Marketing, are available. Please contact Dr Daniela Castillo by sending an email for more information.
