The University of Malta, in collaboration with the University of Malta Library Services and the Equity Office, is excited to announce the launch of an important initiative: the establishment of a Women’s Archive at the University of Malta.
The initiative aims to preserve and celebrate the lives, achievements and voices of women who have shaped our society. Help Us Build a Women's Archive. Your contributions matter.
We are reaching out to individuals and organisations who share our vision of honouring women's histories.
We invite donations from all walks of life - individuals, organizations, and communities - to help build this inclusive archive. Here’s how you can contribute:
Individuals: Women from all walks of life such as literature, medicine, academia, public life, sports, religious communities or any field are encouraged to donate personal papers, such as correspondence, manuscripts, notes, or reflections or photographs. Your story, whether as a professional or an everyday changemaker, is invaluable in documenting women’s impact.
Organisations and Activist Groups: Local women’s organisations and activist groups can contribute by donating meeting minutes, photographs, flyers, posters, campaign materials, or even memorabilia. These records of collective action and community spirit are essential to capturing the fight for equality and justice.
Diverse Narratives: We seek materials reflecting the breadth of women’s experiences in Malta, especially from underrepresented voices. Documents, artefacts, or stories about everyday lives, political movements, educational journeys, or professional milestones will enrich this archive.
This archive aims to be inclusive and representative of the diverse experiences of women in Malta Contributions are welcome from all backgrounds. Your contributions will preserve legacies, inspire future generations, and create a space for connection, discovery, and empowerment. Every item, no matter how small, carries historical weight and helps tell a fuller story of women’s contributions.
If you have stories, documents, or artefacts related to women’s everyday lives, political movements, educational journeys, or professional milestones, we would love to hear from you.
