The University of Malta will host this Blended Intensive Programme focusing on the governance, communication, and management practices of a European University Alliance, based on the SEA-EU experience. The programme combines a virtual session with an on-site intensive week and encourages peer exchange and discussion among participants.

Participants
Minimum 10 and maximum 24 participants.
Each SEA-EU university may nominate up to 4 staff members.

Interested participants must apply through their home university according to the internal procedure.

Course Description
This course explores the concept of sustainability and its importance in addressing global challenges such as climate change, resource depletion, and biodiversity loss. It examines the interconnectedness of environmental, social, and economic systems and how these influence sustainability efforts.
Through case studies and discussions, participants will learn about sustainable practices in various sectors, including energy, water cycles, seafood production, and tourism. In addition, the course explores strategies to promote sustainability at individual, organisational, and community levels.
The programme addresses environmental, sustainable, and social/community strategies aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda. It provides participants with an opportunity to gain a comprehensive understanding of sustainability principles and insight into practical cases that contribute to a more sustainable future.

Swimming skills are mandatory, and an adventurous spirit is encouraged.
Number of Participants
The minimum number of participants is 15, and the maximum is 20.

Equal distribution of available places among SEA-EU partner universities will be applied where possible.
Mobility Costs
Participants interested in this programme should apply for Erasmus+ financing through their home university, in accordance with their university’s internal procedures.

Students are invited to apply for the Nord Summer School 2026 at Nord University in Bodø, Norway. This programme offers a unique opportunity to study above the Arctic Circle while earning ECTS credits in an international learning environment.
