Aspects relevant to Sustainability
Social Policy and the European Union
UG
Social policy and sustainability are connected to foster inclusivity and equitable societies. Social sustainability involves societies where its citizens have the opportunity to benefit from development (in any arena, such as gender equality etc). It also emphasises that marginalised and vulnerable groups are not left behind in society. While economic sustainability focuses on the long-term economic growth, environmental sustainability preserves natural resources, social sustainability ensures that development is shared equitably.
