The I-ACCESS Interreg Italia-Malta Project is aimed at making the cultural heritage in the historic centers of Palermo and Valletta more accessible to wider audiences.
The Department of Conservation and Built Heritage at the University of Malta, the Valletta Local Council and Innovogy Ltd are the partners in Malta. The partners in Palermo are CNR – Istituto di Calcolo e Reti ad Alte Prestazioni, Dipartimento dei Beni Culturali e dell’Identità Siciliana, Soprintendenza Beni Culturali ed Ambientali di Palermo, Comune di Palermo, and the Lead Partner, Dipartimento di Architettura at the Università degli Studi di Palermo.
Part of the project will provide more information about the cultural heritage in the streets of Valletta, in order to make this heritage more accessible, through digital and innovative tools. An important objective of the project is to ensure that the interpretation tools that are developed will also help overcome the obstacles presented by disabilities.
