The Degree of Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Pharmaceutical Science comprising 240 ECTS credits, obtained with at least Second Class Honours.

Applicants in possession of the degree of Bachelor of Science (Honours) (Pharmaceutical Science) obtained with Third Class Honours shall be eligible to apply if they submit a portfolio covering three years' practice in an area related to Pharmacy.

Requires the submission of a Police Certificate of Conduct.

Applications for our February and October intakes have been officially open since the third week in November. You can submit your application online. The deadlines for submission of applications vary according to the intake and courses. We encourage all international applicants to submit their applications as soon as possible. The course consists of three semesters and is taken by graduates in possession of the 4 year BSc (Hons) in Pharmaceutical Science degree. It gives an entry-level professional pharmacy degree. It supports students to integrate skills in pharmaceutical sciences and pharmaceutical practice so as to practice in a wide variety of settings including community pharmacy, hospitals, pharmaceutical administrative institutions, pharmaceutical regulatory sciences and the pharmaceutical industry.

* Work on the dissertation is expected to start in Semester 1 of academic year 2023-24 and continue up to the end of the Summer Semester of academic year 2023-24.
 

This programme of study is governed by the General Regulations for University Postgraduate Awards, 2021 and by the Bye-Laws for the award of Master of Pharmacy - M.Pharm. - under the auspices of the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery.

    Demonstrate critical understanding of care frameworks and a comprehensive understanding of evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
  1. Interpret and evaluate patient data in relation to prescription of medicines and the patientҳ overall needs while liaising with other healthcare professionals.
  2. Participate in pharmaceutical regulatory processes that ensure efficacy, safety and quality of medicinal products and pharmaceutical processes.
  3. Promote health, wellness and disease prevention.
  4. Manage medication distribution and inventory control in the light of pharmaceutical processes including risk management strategies./li>
  5. Critically analyse evidence and literature./li>
  6. Analyse and interpret data, dissemination of results and research report writing.

Graduates will be able to register as a pharmacist and practise as a pharmacist in community pharmacies, hospital settings and the pharmaceutical industry. Successful completion of the course will allow graduates to further their studies with a specialised Masters or Doctorate degree.
