This course provides non-EU/EEA radiographers with clinical training across key imaging modalities: planar and dental X-ray, computed tomography (CT), and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The course is mainly delivered through clinical practice and tutorial sessions and will emphasise the application of practical skills, safety protocols, optimisation, and patient care within each modality.

Information for International applicants

The Course shall be open to applicants in possession of a qualification in Radiography deemed suitable by the Board of Studies and recognized at least at Level 6 on the Malta and European Qualifications Frameworks.

RAD4132* Clinical Imaging Practice 10: Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) 3 ECTS      
RAD4134* Clinical Imaging Practice 12: Reaching Proficiency in Planar X-Ray Imaging 4 ECTS      

* Study-units RAD4037, RAD4132, RAD4134 start in Semester 2, continue in the Summer Period and end in Semester 1 of the next academic year.  


This programme of study is governed by the Regulations for Micro-credentials, 2024.

By the end, you will:

  • Demonstrate competence in performing routine planar and dental X-ray, CT, and MRI examinations
  • Describe and apply safety standards for radiation and magnetic fields to ensure patient and staff protection
  • Optimise imaging parameters for diagnostic examinations
  • Explain modality-specific protocols and procedures in clinical settings
  • Effectively communicate with and care for patients before, during and after the imaging procedure
  • Effectively manage the room and lead the imaging procedures being performed

Non EU Applicants:

In academic year 2025/2026, the course is offered exclusively to TCN radiographers employed by the Ministry of Health and Active Ageing
